In
High Sierra, she played Marie, the dancehall girl who loves the doomed Roy Earle, who was played by Humphrey Bogart.
Ida Lupino became a director when she got bored with sitting around the sets.
She did lots of work on television. I remember her in an adaption of Carlton Morse's
I Love a Mystery.
