Actor Sam Jaffe was born 125 years ago, either on 08- or 10-March-1891.  I remember seeing him on television.

He was a friend of John Huston.  Huston gave him the part of Doc in Asphalt Jungle.  He played strange roles like the High Lama in Lost Horizon and Gunga Din in Gunga Din.
