Terry Jones and Jim Lehrer, RIP -- January 24, 2020

I was sad to learn of the death of medieval historian, organist, director, writer, pepper pot, Arthur Pewtey and Cardinal Biggles, Terry Jones.  Monty Python's Flying Circus was a big deal when we first saw it on PBS.  Polymath Terry Jones wrote many sketches with Michael Palin.

Newsman and debate moderator Jim Lehrer has died.  He was a major bus enthusiast, with a big collection of memorabilia and buses.

Happy 75th birthday (tomorrow) to Michael Palin, the Lumberjack, the Dead Parrott vendor, Ken Pile, Arthur Putey, Mr Anchovy, the Lion Tamer, the French Knight and Sir Galahad. We knew all the words to "The Lumberjack Song." After Monty Python, he did some nice travel and adventure shows.

Happy 75th birthday to Eric Idle, Brave Sir Robin, Ratty, Dirk Ruttle and the marriage counsellor.  He loves playing with language and he composed many of the best Monty Python songs, including "The Philosophers' Song" and "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life," which he sang at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
