100 years ago, Roscoe Arbuckle appeared in a lot of movies in a short time. He appeared in five features released during 1921.

In The Traveling Salesman, Roscoe played Bob Blake, a travelling salesman who left a train in the wrong town, and sought shelter from a rainstorm. His leading lady was Betty Ross Clarke. I keep trying to type her name as Betsy Ross Clarke.

The Traveling Salesman was based on a 1908 play by James Grant Forbes.

I thought it was ironic that Roscoe's frequent leading lady at Comique was going to appear in a movie with Al Roscoe. I found a photo of him,. but he doesn't look that interesting.

100 years ago this month, Roscoe Arbuckle participated in a publicity stunt, standing on the chest of Tom Cameroni, who claimed to be the world's toughest man, while Cameroni lay shirtless on a bed of nails. Cameroni was not damaged.

Roscoe's latest feature, The Dollar a Year Man played a full week at the Isis Theater in Indianapolis. The coin reads "In Laughs We Bust."
