James J Jeffries had been heavyweight boxing champion since 1899. He first fought former champ James J Corbett in 1900. Corbett was doing well until Jeffries knocked him out in the 20th. They met again on 14-August-1903 at the Mechanic's Pavilion in San Francisco. Corbett conceded after ten rounds.
The Lubin company offered film of the fight for $5.50 per 50 feet.
