The Vitagraph Company of America, an important early film studio, advertised a wide selection of films. "Sherlock Holmes, or Held for Ransom" was a 1905 Vitagraph production also called "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes." Gilbert Anderson, later known as Broncho Billy, played Holmes. "Humorous Phases of Funny Faces" was one of the first animated films. I wonder what was in the film of the 1906 San Francisco Fire and Earthquake.
