In
The Lone Star Ranger, based on the novel by Zane Grey, Tom Mix had played Buck Duane who got a lot of grief because his father was a bandit. Later he became a Texas Ranger. Tom Mix played Buck Duane again in
The Last of the Duanes. "Zane Grey's pen sends for the spirit of the blazing West in magic words -- Tom Mix flashes from the screen the adventure and romance of the sunlit plains."
