Robert E Sherwood, the movie critic at Life Magazine, heaped praise on the movie after watching a preview. The original Life Magazine was a humorous weekly that was published from 1883 to 1936. In another item, exhibitors claimed that Lloyd's previous movie, "A Sailor Made Man," set a record for Southern California. All available prints were booked until late June.
