Irish revolutionary leader Michael Collins was killed in an ambush 100 years ago today, on 22-August-1922. The Big Fellow was leading the provisional government during the Irish Civil War. In 1996, Neil Jordan directed a biopic, Michael Collins, starring Liam Neeson as the Big Fella. The movie was not strictly accurate, and many complained about the way that Alan Rickman played Éamon de Valera.
I would like to see it again.
