San Francisco's Warfield Theater opened in May 1922. Marcus Loew named it after his friend, the actor David Warfield. The Warfield Theater is still open, serving as a music venue. We saw Elvis Costello and T Bone Burnett at the Warfield.

Viola Dana, star of the opening movie, The 14th Lover, and a scad of other stars appeared at the opening.
