Views of the Peninsula Studios, San Mateo, California -- July 28, 2024

Exhibitors Herald, 12-July-1924

San Mateo, a town down the peninsula from San Francisco, was the home of the Peninsula Studios, which had been founded around 1920 as the Pacific Studios. The studio produced many short comedies, but around 1924, when it became Peninsula Studios, producers Frank E Woods and Elmer Harris planned to make feature films.

Elmer Harris produced The Wise Virgin and Frank E Woods produced Chalk Marks at the Peninsula Studios and other locations in the San Francisco area.

"Frank E Woods -- The Organist of the Human Heart." I'm not sure I would want to be known as "The Organist of the Human Heart."

"Elmer Harris -- The Creator of Brilliant Comedy Drama."
