Blake Edwards, director, writer, producer, actor and husband of Julie Andrews, was born 100 years ago today, on 26-July-1922. His stepfather was the son of silent era director J Gordon Edwards. Blake Edwards made many funny movies, so some people looked down on him.

I love the Pink Panther movies, although the last few were stretched pretty thin. Edwards and Peter Sellers worked well together. I also liked Herbert Lom's Inspector Dreyfus.
