Black Maria 125 -- February 1, 2018

Some sources say that 125 years ago today, on 01-February-1893, Thomas Edison's team which was working on motion pictures, led by WKL Dickson, completed the first motion picture studio.  The Black Maria was a shed covered with tar paper.  The roof was hinged to open and admit sunlight, and the whole structure sat on a turntable so it could move with the sun.
