I hate to close the year on this note, but two people died late in the month.
Luise Rainer died at 104 years old. She won best actress two years in a row. If she wasn't the last pre-war Hollywood star, she was close.
Edward Herrmann was most famous for playing FDR. He narrated many Ken Burns documentaries. He was good at playing old-fashioned East coast patricians.
